Gateways enables the teenage student to meet the next challenge in school or work. Students select from The Gateways' Study Skills System®, Speed Reading, or SAT and Test Preparation.
Study Skills
The Gateways' Study Skills System© is modular so students work on acquiring just the tools they need for success. The modules include:
- Materials Management
- Time Management
- Learning Style
- Creating Interest
- Increasing Concentration
- Note Taking
- Improving Recall
- Alleviating Anxiety
- Test Taking
- Speed Reading
Speed Reading
Speed Reading Students learn to double their reading rate while maintaining or improving comprehension. They learn:
- Techniques to overcome inefficient habits
- Comprehension skills to understand and remember information
- Flexible reading styles to match reading material and purpose
SAT and Test Preparation
The SAT and ACT college admission’s tests can often shape and define a student’s college admission eligibility. At Gateways, we do test preparation a little bit differently than others. Rather than using a class format, we work with students individually, coaching them in those areas of greatest need. We also help prepare students for the California High School Exit Exam as well as the ISEE, SSAT, CBEST, GED, GRE and vocational tests.
